Floridians Believe Global Warming To Have Dangerous Impacts on State
A new survey of Floridians finds that most are convinced that global warming is happening now, and that more should be done by key leaders to help Florida deal with climate change. The survey is the first-ever study of Floridians' opinions about global warming, and was conducted by researchers at Yale University and the University of Miami, with funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation. According to Dr. Kenny Broad from the Rosenstiel School the research suggest that Floridians believe global warming will have serious consequences here at home and are growing increasingly concerned about the issue. Sky’s The Limit As Unprecedented No. of Students Recognized by AMS
Of a 45 total American Meteorological Society undergraduate scholarships and fellowships available this year, five were awarded to students studying meteorology at UM's Rosenstiel School. Given on the basis of academic merit, these scholarships are designed to attract promising young scientists to careers in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic fields. Students who received scholarships were: Roque Cespedes, Jason Hwang, Scott Powell and Jennifer Gahtan. Angela Colbert was awarded a fellowship. Read more…
